pure beauty: susanna p [bryan/college station, tx, portrait photographer.]

Hi hi hi friends!

I have really missed blogging this semester! I have been really busy with school and ARTISTS stuff and work, and I have barely had any time to even take pictures! However, I had the opportunity to get a few shots of a beautiful, precious friend of mine a few weeks ago at my favorite time of day - sunset.

This is how eager I am to share these pictures with you - I have not edited them AT ALL (this is probably pretty obvious). I didn't want to take time to edit even just a few of them - this shoot is already a couple weeks old, and they are just so gorgeous, I couldn't waste any more time with editing before I posted them!

I'm a little nervous posting these SOOC, because they literally haven't gone through any processing, and this is not something photographers typically (EVER) do, so I'm feeling a little vulnerable, but my photography and this series especially is not at all about me or what I'm capable of, but it's about the Lord shining His light through these ladies and reminding them of the beauty that Jesus sees when He looks at them. That's exactly what these few shots display - the beauty of the Lord captured in Susanna and the light of the beautiful evening we had the opportunity to enjoy together, and even though, to a photographer's eye, it's pretty raw and looks unfinished and unprofessional (and really, if I was worried about seeming unprofessional, I would blog more than once every three months... oops.), but really, that's all that matters.

So, dear friends, enjoy these few shots of my sweet sweet friend Susanna, and watch for more (edited) shots from this session soon (eventually)! :)

That's all for now! More soon, I hope!

love, love, love.

pure beauty: kellsie g [bryan/college station, tx, portrait photographer.]

Good morning, friends, and happy new year! I certainly have missed blogging, but with the end of the semester, finals, and the holidays, I've just been very very busy, and photography was not something I had much time for. HOWEVER, all that is over, and I have several shoots to share with you! First things first, I'd like you to meet my sweet friend Kellsie.

Kellsie is a friend that I've met this semester, and she is such a sweetheart. I have truly been blessed with the opportunity to get to know her this semester. A few weeks ago, she asked me if we could go out and shoot on a beautiful fall afternoon, and of course I said absolutely we could! :)

That's all for now, friends, but I have a couple more shoots up my sleeve that will be posted this week!

love, love, love.

a day at the park with friends. [personal.]

man, it's been a while since I've done this.

as a few of my faithful followers may have noticed, I have not blogged in a very long time. there were multiple reasons for this, but the main one was the simple fact that I was just too busy. In the past three months, I have barely picked up my camera. August brought the crazy, crazy business of moving back to my house at school, getting ARTISTS going again for the new year, and [most importantly] starting classes for what may be the busiest semester of my college career, and September and October didn't provide much relief. Midterms are [almost] over, and though I still have a ton of schoolwork + other responsibilities to take care of, I decided it was time to document the small [but significant] pleasures in life.

Yesterday, a few of my friends and I took the afternoon off and headed to a local park, cameras in hand. We took some pictures, but mostly we just enjoyed the opportunity to delight in each other's company.

Lauren, with her awesome film camera.

James, sitting on a bridge.

Stephanie, sitting by the water.

James again, through the camera of his phone.

oh, the many faces of Monika.

I wish I could share more, but my schoolwork beckons. that's all for now, friends!

love, love, love.
